ONTARIO BUSINESS GETS A BUSY SIGNAL

   Businesses trying to figure out their responsibilities under sweeping new labour laws that apply to almost all Ontario workers in the new year are struggling to get through on a ministry information hotline, the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) says.
  A revised employment standards poster that companies were obliged under law to put up – under threat of fines – didn’t arrive until Jan. 2, CFIB spokesperson Julie Kwiecinski said.
   It took 14 tries for a business resource councillor with the CFIB to get through to an operator at the ministry’s employment standards hotline Wednesday, she said
