SENATORS GRILLING ZUCKERBERG

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) just had a heated exchange with Zuckerberg.
"Do you consider yourself a neutral public forum or are you engaged in political speech, which is your right under the First Amendment?" Cruz asked.
Zuckerberg indicated that it was the former.
Cruz noted that the company has been accused of "bias and political censorship" and ticked off multiple examples of conservative voices being suppressed on the platform: Chick-fil-A, Catholic pages, Glenn Beck, Diamond and Silk.
He accused Facebook of being engaged in a "pervasive pattern of political bias."
"I understand where that concern is coming from," Zuckerberg responded, admitting that Silicon Valley is an "extremely left-leaning place."
"This is actually a concern that I have and try to root out in the company is making sure that we don't have any bias in the work we do." Zuckerberg conceded that it is a "fair concern."
