The Progressive Conservative association in ousted MPP Randy Hillier’s riding wants Premier Doug Ford to let the veteran member back into the governing party’s caucus.
With Tory MPPs expected to discuss readmitting Hillier to caucus on Tuesday, there is mounting pressure on Ford to bring him back into the fold.
Ann Rawson, a board member of the Lanark-Frontenac-Kingston PC association, expressed concern at how their local member has been treated. “I understand the recent situation where it appeared that Randy had made an insensitive comment. I have heard his explanation of what happened and that he intended the comment to be directed to a member of the opposition. I accept his explanation because I have never known Randy to be anything other than unimpeachably honest.”
