CLIMATE FOCUSED INVESTMENT FUNDS DABBLE IN OIL

"It is not so much about avoiding companies that are carbon emitters, but about investing in companies that have sought to adapt their businesses to meet the challenge," said HSBC spokesman Charles Clarke of the fund's holdings.  OH! That's okay then.

BACK-PEDALLING THE LIBERAL WAY

National Post:  The Liberals have backtracked significantly on their pledge to reform Access to Information rules to make it easier for Canadians to track government activities. Before taking office,  Trudeau promised to end fees for processing information requests; empower the information commissioner to order documents released and subject ministers to the act. But Trudeau’s mandate letter to the Treasury Board President abandons some commitments and weakens other.

HYPOCRITE SUZUKI & HIS HENCHMEN

Several years ago he held a press conference on Parliament Hill and told reporters we wouldn’t really see him anymore because his carbon footprint was too big. He said it was time to walk the walk so he would do more video conferencing and less travel.  He hasn’t kept that promise and I asked him about it. He didn’t like the question.

UNFETTERED LIBERALISM IN ACADEMIA

November was a colossally bad month for sensibility at Ontario’s so-called institutions of higher learning.  News broke that a free yoga class for University of Ottawa students had been cancelled by the school’s student union because of “cultural appropriation”—yoga originated in India.  Earlier in the month, pink and blue flags set up by a pro-life club at the University of Windsor, intending to memorialize lives lost to abortion, were ordered down because the school’s student union president didn’t want to “emotionally hurt certain people.”

MR. OBAMA GOES TO PARIS

"As the courts and Congress dismantle Obama's domestic plan, he will be limited in producing anything substantive internationally," Inhofe said. "Some foreign leaders are strongly urging Obama to keep Congress out of considering any commitment reached at the COP21.  However, should he heed that advice, he will be left with a nonbinding political commitment and no means of enforcement, accountability or longevity."

LEFTY ISSUES AMONG PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES

Dealing with the progressive left is, on its best days, like listening to a not-too-bright first grader who has already gotten too many participation trophies and fancies himself smart and special based solely on the input of his mommy. The unearned self-importance is sad to watch and the dumb kid's priorities are always out of balance with reality.

OBAMA: IDEALISTIC & DELUDED

Krauthammer: This global warming is the same thing. Nothing will come of it because it’s not a treaty. It would never get through the Senate. It’s not going to be binding on anybody.”
