DISBANDING THE 1500 PERSON CARAVAN

On Monday, the 1,500-person caravan headed through Mexico toward the United States received bad news as the Mexican government is now reportedly going to be breaking up the group of people before they can reach the U.S. border.
Adolfo Flores, national security correspondent for immigration at BuzzFeed News, tweeted: "Mexican immigration authorities said they plan on disbanding the Central American caravan by Wednesday in Oaxaca. The most vulnerable will get humanitarian visas."

TRUDEAU LOSING THE FEMALE VOTE TOO.

Nelson,  Calgary Herald:  Unlike our prime minister, I’ve always figured women are generally a bit smarter than us men.   Certainly, when it comes to the actual doing of dumb things in life, the focus group containing all men usually wins hands down.
Not being in the habit of patronizing people, I’ve never felt the need to do so with half the population, unlike Justin Trudeau and his endless, cringe-worthy blather about how he’s a feminist prime minister and how the word “mankind” should suffer the same sad oblivion as our Canadian NHL teams.
Well, not surprisingly, this constant guff has backfired. Yes, despite those tears and protestations, the good looks, the flashy socks and the endless so-sorry-for-something moments, the latest poll shows Trudeau losing the female vote.
According to this article, from the G&M,  he's losing the male vote as well.

TRUDEAU'S LIBERALS IGNORING ATLANTIC CANADA

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accomplished what no political leader was ever able to do. His party won all 32 seats in Atlantic Canada in the 2015 general election.
Mr. Trudeau has his work cut out for him if he wishes to pull off the same victory in 2019. At this point, at least, it seems unlikely. It may well be that the Prime Minister and his most trusted political advisers have concluded that it is simply not worth the effort, given that the region only has 32 MPs in a 338-member House of Commons.

STUDENT ACCUSED OF BEING ISRAELI GOV'T AGENT

All Munk School of global affairs graduate student Ari Blaff wanted to do last December was to meet a few professors over coffee to discuss pursuing a PhD with a focus on Middle Eastern studies.
In response to Blaff's e-mailed invitations, Jens Hanssen, an associate professor of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean History in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at the University of Toronto, replied almost immediately with a scathing e-mail accusing Blaff of being an agent of the Israeli government.
He claimed that Blaff, a former Hasbara fellow, was sent to the U of T campus by the new Israeli ministry of Strategic Affairs and Public Diplomacy to indoctrinate students, professors and administrators into thinking anti-Israel activities are a bad thing.
“It was a little out there,” Blaff said of Hanssen’s response. “I never had accusations on paper like that.”

MCKENNA HAS NO TIME FOR CLIMATE SKEPTICS

OTTAWA – Federal Environment Minister Catherine McKenna says she has "no time" for political adversaries who don’t believe climate change is real.
"I have no time for folks who are like, you know, 'We shouldn’t take action,'" she said. "I don’t have time for politicians that play cynical games about climate action."
Asked whether she viewed having time for people as part of her role as a federally elected official, she said: "I have time for Canadians who disagree with me, and I have conversations with them all the time…. But I don't have time for politicians that pretend that climate change isn’t real."

TRUMP HINTS HE WANTS OUT OF SYRIA

Only scattered pockets of ISIS fighters remain in Syria and Donald Trump told his senior advisers he thinks it may be time for U.S. troops stationed there to pull out.
There are 2,000 announced U.S. troops in Syria, most of them Special Forces operators. There are probably hundreds more CIA personnel as well as more Special Forces that are operating under the radar.
