NO CONVICTIONS IN WHITMER KIDNAPPING CASE
Events on January 6, followed by the government's totalitarian approach to dealing with people who dared to enter the Capitol with the Capitol police's invitation, distracted people from another case of government overreach: in Michigan, the Department of Justice accused six men of conspiring to kidnap Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer in late 2020. Although two men pleaded out, four went to trial. On Friday, the jury acquitted two of the defendants and deadlocked as to the other two, resulting in a mistrial. The reason for this DOJ failure? The fact that the FBI made up 12 of the 18 people involved in the plot and were clearly entrapping the remaining six.
TRANS RIGHTS DEMANDS IN ONTARIO SCHOOLS
According to documents obtained by True North, officials at a Toronto District School Board (TDSB) presentation on transphobia last week heard that students should be able to use whichever bathroom “best corresponds” to a student’s gender identity and that parents should not be informed of that identity without the student’s consent.
“A student’s self identification is the sole measure of the student’s gender,” documents from the high school state.
The presentation comes in the wake of a Halton District School Board directive a few months ago stating that students should be able to use whichever change room they feel is “most gender affirming,” and that female students who were uncomfortable with the arrangement should be asked to change elsewhere.

OTTAWA MAYOR WANTS MASKING TO RETURN
Ottawa mayor Jim Watson is the latest voice to demand the Ontario government force residents and kids to mask up again, saying that schools and stores are two places where he’s becoming “more and more worried.”
Watson called on Ontario premier Doug Ford to “really rethink” the government’s decision to drop the mask mandate – this despite the fact that public health officials in several major provinces no longer recommend mandatory masking.
“We’ve got to kill this virus once and for all, and we can’t do it if we take away some of the tools that doctors tell us are the most effective tools keeping us safe,” Watson said.

EXPERTS UNDER OATH SAY MASKS DO NOT WORK
Since last September, experts have testified at a tribunal hearing for an Alberta chiropractor on how well masks do, or don’t, slow the spread of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. Unfortunately, the chiropractor’s college, YouTube, and LinkedIn did not want you to know what was said because most of it contradicts what people have been told the past two years.
Dang said N95 masks were designed to catch 95 percent of materials that were 0.3 microns or bigger, but SARS-CoV-1 was 0.1 microns. He also cited the DANMASK-19 study, a randomized control trial of people in Denmark who wore masks to prevent COVID-19 and others who did not. “Despite desperately wanting to find objective evidence that masks [work], they could not,” Dang concluded.
“Having the public wear masks, most of which are often wet, dirty, reused, and incorrectly worn, can lead to health problems and inhaling pollutions and secretions over and over,” Dang said.
In the opinion of occupational health and safety (OH&S) consultant Chris Schaeffer, masking the public was “beyond strange” and “alarming.” He called public mask mandates “Russian roulette,” and risky for those with COPD, heart conditions, lung conditions, or high blood pressure. He said N95s were “breathing barriers,” unlike typical masks, and “were never designed for hour upon hour use.”

WOMEN STALKED USING APPLE AIRTAGS TRACKING DISCS
Vice News reports that recently reviewed police records show that Apple’s popular AirTag tracking devices are being used to track women across the United States. Originally designed to help people track down their lost set of keys or backpacks, the small, affordable tracking discs have been used in a number of carjackings and robberies in recent months, now they’ve reportedly become popular tools to stalk women.
Vice requested records mentioning AirTags in the past eight-month period from dozens of police departments across the United States. Of the 150 police reports received that mention AirTags, 50 included women calling the police as they were receiving notifications that they were being tracked by a nearby AirTag.
Of those 50 cases, 25 of the women were able to identify an individual in their life who they strongly suspected had planted the AirTags on them in an effort to stalk them. The women reported that current and former romantic partners were using AirTags to stalk and harass them.

BC STILL CLINGING TO ITS COVID JAB REQUIREMENTS

Lawyers with the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF) have zeroed in on Hinshaw’s use of certain language – including “non-believers,” “conspiracy theory,” “naysayers,” “new normal” – and social justice commitments, as well as a highly publicized incident from October that saw Hinshaw apologize for initially blaming the death of a 14-year-old on COVID when he had actually died of brain cancer.
The long-delayed trial began this week, with JCCF lawyers representing a number of churches and individuals – including a gym owner – who had filed a constitutional challenge in Dec. 2020.
