The Canadian Landowner Alliance advocates for provincial legislation that recognizes property rights, and, that the Federal Government of Canada enshrines property rights in the Charter of Rights and freedoms.
Soon to be replaced, indeed. As Steyn pointed out, she was, in virtually all respects, a fundamentally decent woman. But like so many bureaucrats she became blind to the fact that her role was that of a Persecutor, not a Protector.
There are lots of folks in the private sector who are pleasant and jovial in a social setting, generous to charities and local sports, etc. But when hammering out a business deal - it's all business. No Mister Nice Guy. Bureaucrats are generally the same. They know they're screwing you and that's what the system's designed to do - they're just another cog in a gear in the drive train of a monolithic machine. Nothing personal, eh? Here's a difference though: the business man has his livelihood to lose; the bureaucrat has nothing to lose. No accountability, apart from God's.
Course they do, they simply don't care. They are either (a) utterly devoid of compassion (which makes them sociopaths) or, (b) know full well what they're doing is wrong but choose prickery over principles (which makes them yellow scum)
Remember in the old days how Hillier was hollering that we had to get rid of the HRCs? Hell, according to your twitter posts, now he wants to give them extra powers.
