WHEN VICTIMS BECOME CRIMINALS
It should be pretty simple: A man's home is his castle. Break into that castle at your own risk and deal with any consequences. But this is Canada....
By the time the cops get to the scene the homeowner's body is cold.Police can't protect you but it is a crime to protect yourself and your property. It seems the police and procecutors are more concerned with protecting their turf than protecting the public.
That's exactly what I was thinking rmac. The cops now seem to think that they deserve exclusive right to possess and discharge firearms to thwart crime, for self defense or protection of property. That's nuts! History, modern statistics, and common sense all show that armed citizens capable of self defense are the most effective deterrent to would-be criminals. Police should be a handy source of backup support.
