Welfare entitlements have gone far beyond temporary assistance to help those down on their luck while they get back on their feet. That was the original idea behind welfare and most would agree that's a good thing. But the further welfare moves away from that original idea, the more it can become like a family occupation.
A salesperson at a furniture store told me that those on welfare can come into the store and get a new fridge, stove, mattress or couch set every 2 years all on the taxpayers dime (and yes indeed they do change their stuff every 2 years because they CAN)...and they don't even have to take the cheapest models. What they expect to be provided with as basic needs far exceeds entitlements...it is a friggin' joke....and the joke is on the taxpayers.
ReplyDeleteBTW The working people that visit here how OLD are your appliances?
Welfare is certainly an occupation for a heck of a lot of Canadians and in some families it has been going on for generations. But the problem is that there are a hell of a lot of workers who depend on the welfare industry and you can bet that they are not doing a damn thing to decrease the welfare rolls. I bet that these paper pushers are burning up a lot more tax dollars than the bums who are just too lazy to work.
