CNN hopes that the new Study Quran, a book of English translations and commentaries on the Quran, will help “curb extremism.” Others believe the book is is a cynical exercise designed to deceive Western non-Muslims, keeping them ignorant and complacent about the nature and magnitude of the jihad threat.
