Who screwed up? How about everybody: a host of Queen’s Park politicians back to the 1970s, nearly every city and town council in Ontario, not to mention the armies of overpaid bureaucrats at Ontario Hydro, the new Hydro One, OPG and the Ontario Energy Board.
But there is a ton of blame to spread around. The appointment of Maurice Strong as chair of Ontario Hydro was a disaster that belongs at the feet of NDP premier Bob Rae. Strong’s self-made claim to fame: inventing global warming.
