Algonquins in Quebec have filed a territorial claim for the land under Parliament Hill, the Supreme Court of Canada and several other federal buildings.
Kitigan Zibi Anishinabe Chief Jean-Guy Whiteduck, on behalf of the Algonquin Anishinabe Nation, filed the civil suit in Ontario civil court Thursday for a tract of land stretching from the parliamentary precinct’s eastern edge all the way to the western border of the LeBreton Flats.
