The Canadian Landowner Alliance advocates for provincial legislation that recognizes property rights, and, that the Federal Government of Canada enshrines property rights in the Charter of Rights and freedoms.
In societies where property rights are trampled, the politically powerful live obscenely well anyway. Only where the rule of law holds sway can even the peasant in his damp hovel not be disturbed or robbed.
I cannot believe the attitude of people with the most to lose when it comes to property rights. A fellow up the valley runs a few thousand head of cattle and he has no problem letting department of agriculture inspectors on his land without permission 24-7. I got nothing to hide he says. I told him with an attitude like that someday soon he will have nothing left to hide.
