CONSEQUENCES OF TRUDEAU'S VISA CANCELLATION

The FBI calls it “crime tourism” and it’s an international problem.
In police parlance, the operators are called SATGs or South American Theft Groups. According to court documents, they’ve been operating across the GTA since the spring of 2018 and, once arrested, have been identified as Colombian, Chilean and Mexican nationals entering on fraudulent passports, most often through Mexico.
“It has been established since the federal government lifted the Visa restrictions for Mexico, these entities are choosing this route for ease of entry in Canada,” according to the York Regional Integrated Property Crime Task Force summary entered as a court exhibit.
