A new report from Amnesty International charges the Assad regime with making over 65,000 Syrians ‘disappear’ during four years of civil war, an “organized attack against the civilian population” carried out not just for political gain, but for profit.

RED CARD FOR MERKEL

The anti-mass migration Alternativ für Deutschland (AfD) party held a rally in the German capital Berlin this afternoon, demanding the resignation of Chancellor Angela Merkel and calling for the country to adopt a strong policy on immigration.

JET DODGED A MISSILE IN EGYPT

A Thomson Airways passenger jet with 189 people aboard was forced to dodge a missile that came within 1000 feet of the aircraft earlier this year as it was descending to land at the same airport from which the crashed Russian Metrojet took off.  The British government and the airline both downplayed the occurrence.  Keep calm and carry on....

 

 

THE EVER INCREASING POWER OF THE EPA

The White House has made it clear it opposes the Ernst legislation, issuing a statement that

asserted EPA’s rulemaking is “grounded in science and the law, is essential to ensure clean water for future generations, and is responsive to calls for rulemaking from the Congress, industry, and community stakeholders as well as decisions of the U.S. Supreme Court.”

 

 

WHEN YOU CUT PHYSICIANS' FEES THERE ARE CONSEQUENCES

Ontario: Alam says it’s been getting “harder and harder,” particularly in recent months, to refer her patients to specialists as the wait lists get longer.  “A lot of specialists are packing up and leaving (the province),” she says. “It’s become such a hostile work environment.”  Gill has also noticed in the past year that a large portion of her patients don’t have family doctors and end up going from ER to ER with their problems.

 

 

MORE TAXPAYER FUNDS TO TEACHERS' UNION

The union that represents the 60,000 secondary school teachers of Ontario is setting up a benefits trust to pay for teacher perks — and taxpayers are paying the startup costs.  Here’s the problem: The government is providing $5 million in startup costs for the trust.

 

 

 

WYNNE SHAMED INTO ALLOWING ASSESSMENT

To date, the Liberals have been up to their old tricks of denying, deflecting and diverting. Premier Kathleen Wynne’s government was finally shamed last week into agreeing to allow Auditor General Bonnie Lysyk to assess $3.74 million in secret payments to some Ontario teacher unions.
