MORE TAXPAYER FUNDS TO TEACHERS' UNION

The union that represents the 60,000 secondary school teachers of Ontario is setting up a benefits trust to pay for teacher perks — and taxpayers are paying the startup costs.  Here’s the problem: The government is providing $5 million in startup costs for the trust.
