Using Trudeau’s own numbers, if Canada is to achieve Trudeau’s target of reducing Canada’s emissions to 30% below 2005 levels by 2030, it will have to cut them between 241 and 351 megatonnes (Mt) annually in less than 15 years.
Reducing our emissions by 241 Mt would require shutting down the equivalent of Canada’s entire oil and gas sector (179 Mt) plus most of the agriculture sector (75 Mt) in less than 15 years.
