Let me be the first to congratulate the Ontario government for reducing automobile insurance premiums by increasing taxes.
What’s next? Reducing hydro bills by increasing taxes, or has that already happened, too?
Redford brought in an insurance board that was supposed to control increases and the first thing it did was approve a 5 percent increase and now Red Rachel has put an extra tax on insurance premiums. I just got our renewal notice and my premium went up by another $85 and when I phoned to ask about it our insurance lady said it was because of the Ft. Mac fires. I told her the fires were out a year ago and besides I do not live there and I never drive through there so why should my rates go up.
