PAYING MORE FOR LESS: EDUCATION IN ONTARIO

Lilley:  Over the course of the Liberal years in power, spending on education more than doubled, the number of teachers went up even as enrollment dropped significantly, and test scores declined.
In 2004 there were 112,235 teachers overseeing 2,129,742 students in the province’s elementary and secondary schools. In 2018, by the time the Liberals left, we had 125,980 teachers plus 9,054 early childhood educators overseeing 2,020,301 students.
