Jet-setting former Ontario Finance Minister Rod “Sandy” Phillips arrived home in Toronto early Thursday morning from the Caribbean to face the music.
The rookie MPP for Ajax-St. Barts arrived at Pearson International Airport after enjoying a sun-splashed two week vacation in posh St. Barts — which he cut short — after Premier Doug Ford ordered him home.
By early afternoon, Phillips had offered his resignation to Premier Doug Ford and it was accepted.
The most disturbing thing about Phillips’ St. Barts vacation is the level of planning that went into the cover up. Rod's St. Bart's ruse had more planning than D-Day. The level of detail in the deception from Phillips clearly shows that he, and those around him, wanted this well hidden from the public.
