THE SORRY STATE OF CANADA'S MILITARY

Canadian servicemen and women are still using Second World War-era sidearms. NORAD’s early warning air defence system is in serious need of modernization. Canada has still not replaced its aging fleet of CF-18 fighter jets, after more than a decade of trying, and our Air Force has no unmanned aerial vehicles, despite them being an increasingly important tool in modern warfare. We are still running a fleet of second-hand British subs that have spent more time in dock for repairs than in the water. Our shipbuilding program is behind schedule. Our Navy has no amphibious crafts and no ability to resupply itself at sea. The list goes on.
