NOT TO BE OUTDONE!

Where yesterday, we highlighted the suck and blow of the CFFO, the Ontario Federation of Agriculture is not to be outdone!
"as our global climate changes, including the environment on our farms, we face ongoing challenges from weather."..."we are bringing three key points to the government. The importance of business risk management tools for farmers to deal with the predicted increase in extreme weather events. The need for OFA to be at the table to make sure climate change programs and policies are available to farmers. And to ensure the efforts made by Ontario farmers to reduce greenhouse gas emissions are recognized."
While Ontario Farm Lobbyists' outstretched palms for alms are often mistaken at Queens Park as sexual overtures, climate facts are daily delivered by fellas like Steve Goddard:
The frequency of major hurricanes in the US is at a record low
Scientists say that high levels of CO2 make animals and plants small and sickly. Like during the Jurassic
A voice of sanity and reason is so refreshing these days!

    1. Glengarrian pointed out yesterday that these farm organizarions lost all their remaining pride with the arrival of legislation back in the early 90s that guaranteed them government operating revenue. When you think of it, they had lost their pride before that because they were lobbying for this "stability" for a few years prior.

One stroke of the Lieutenant Governor's destroyed their independence, utterly removed their ability to truly represent the best interest of farmers, and cut off their balls.

But having said that, this has been the situation for over two decades. They have done nothing but lobby governments for tax-payer subsidies, grants and the maintenance of programs that make a mockery of every free market principle you can think of.

And there is absolutely no demand from farmers to ease the burden on taxpayers by stopping subsidies and grants, restoring free and open markets, and getting the government's nose out of the farm organizations.

Sadly, I think the farm organizations are a fitting refection of their memberships.
