MODERATE PACED JOB CREATION IN CANADA

Job creation in Canada picked up more than expected in December, adding nearly 23,000 positions overall and leaving the unemployment rate unchanged, but year-over-year growth continued at only a moderate pace in 2015.   Most of last month’s job gains were in part-time positions, which were up 29,200, while the number of full-time workers edged down by 6,400. However, both estimates are well within the agency’s margin of error — meaning little significant change.
