Toronto Sun: Like their NDP pals at City Hall, the posse of Social Justice Warriors (SJWs) on the Toronto District School Board have their knickers in a knot over the changes coming in the middle of an election with no “opportunity for consultation, transparency and accountability.
I won’t even explore in detail the lack of accountability shown by a board of trustees and an education director who have turned a blind eye to the tremendous problems in some of their elementary and high schools as a result of their “progressive discipline” (i.e., no discipline) policies.
And when it comes to accountability, I think the trustees have very short memories. Let’s consider the board’s move to axe School Resource Officers arbitrarily last fall, contrary to the positive feedback from their very own survey and many teachers and students.
A subsequent motion to support the city if it pursues legal action against the provincial government for downsizing Toronto City council, was also endorsed by most of the trustees, including Jennifer Arp, Ausma Malik and Ken Lister — all of whom have signed up to run for a 47-member council.
