APRIL 1 CARBON TAX, FROM THE FOOL ON THE HILL

   Goldstein:  Trudeau’s claim his carbon tax will be revenue neutral for his government isn’t true.
   Ottawa will collect the 5% goods and services tax on Trudeau’s carbon tax — a tax on a tax — initially raising hundreds of millions of dollars in new tax revenue for the Trudeau government across Canada, eventually rising to billions of dollars.
   While Trudeau and Co. typically cite only the higher costs of gasoline and natural gas used for home heating under his carbon tax, his finance department lists 22 fossil fuels where prices will increase, with costs passed on to consumers in higher prices for goods and services.
