The Liberals abandoned Canadians’ fundamental freedoms long ago.
The latest example is Bill S-7, introduced by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s buddies in the Senate.
The bill would permit Canada Border Services agents to read or view “emails, documents, texts, instant messages, photos or videos” on the cellphones, laptops, tablets, smart watches and any other devices of anyone entering the country – citizen, refugee or visitor – without a warrant.
The standard for authorizing such a gross intrusion on personal privacy? “Reasonable general concern” that the traveler may have committed an offence against Canadian law.
