It doesn't take a Wellington to figure out that the metamorphosis of the US military as envisioned and promoted by General David Perkins in this address to the World Affairs Council in Washington DC is nothing but "doing less with less". (It's 55 mins - skip to the 4:30 mark.)

I only watched till the soft ball questions started. This is the declaration that Obumsteads policy of doing nothing is now official US policy. The red-heeled army is the way things are going to be.
ReplyDeleteSome of what he says makes sense. But I'm puzzled that there was no reference to intelligence verification processes or the absolute necessity of having clearly defined strategies coming from the White House so that troops are clear about expected outcomes and duration..
ReplyDeleteJeepers. That's a retreat alright. The US has been screwing up since Viet Nam because they just aren't willing to do what it takes to win. If you're not willing to win absolute victory the quickest way possible then just stay home.
ReplyDeletePerkins spoke at my National Guard base two years ago. He is a butt kisser who has gone through the ranks real quick because he learned to say the things Democrats want to hear.
