Here’s the Liberals’ campaign rollout calendar:
First, a full federal budget in mid-March, most likely the week of March 22. It will be the first full budget in exactly two years, the last one being on March 19, 2019. It will also be the first budget from Chrystia Freeland since she was appointed as finance minister last August, although she released an economic statement in November.
Second, Trudeau moves to dissolve Parliament in late April or early May. Once the official writ is issued, the campaign begins officially. By law, the campaign must run for at least 36 days and no more than 50 days. The 2019 election lasted 40 days.
Third, voting day is held in early- to mid-June.
