I refer of course to the cancellation of the arrangement with the Kielburger boys, Marc and Craig, to distribute 912 million Canadian taxpayer dollars.
From whee to woe — all in a day. I’ve stood longer in airports than WE held the strings on that pile of money. It’s over. They’ve cancelled.
It’s that ‘elite’ thing again. The deal couldn’t look good to the tens of thousands who have gone through the wringer during COVID, those owners of small businesses with a lifetime’s work behind them, probably gone under, the low-scale wage earner or the supermarket workers who looked up and saw nearly a billion dollars being thrown out carelessly and among “friends.”
