THE LIMELIGHT & THE POWER

Mandatory masks/face coverings represent the next front in the battle against COVID-19, four medical experts in the region, including Dr. Paul Roumeliotis, said on Monday afternoon.
Acknowledging there are “very few cases” in eastern Ontario but announcing the invoking of a directive requiring masks in indoor commercial and public spaces beginning Tuesday, Roumeliotis, medical officer of health with the Eastern Ontario Health Unit, said “it’s important to note that the pandemic is not over,” and the directive is to “ensure as we move forward that we can add to the existing precautions that (are in place). We want to be ready for the fall as we go to stage three openings.
Only three COVID-19 cases within the Eastern Ontario Health Unit region remain unresolved, according to the provincial definition and data.  That's 3 people in a population of about 200,000 people.
