VICTORIA — Dr. Bonnie Henry retreated this week from her earlier order that doctors, dentists, and other medical professionals get vaccinated to protect patients and preserve public confidence in the health-care system.
British Columbia's provincial health officer signaled her reversal with a media release that was as notable for what it didn’t say as for what it did.
It said medical professionals have until March 31 to report their vaccination status to their governing college.
But there was no mention of last month’s announcement that Henry was finalizing “an order that requires all regulated health professionals to be vaccinated by March 24, 2022, to work in their occupation in B.C.”
