Farley was a founding member of the Council of Canadians in 1985. And over the years he joined with us to oppose the Canada-Colombia free trade agreement, the destructive expansion of the tar sands, oil and gas exploration in the Old Harry Prospect in the Gulf of St. Lawrence, and numerous other causes of shared concern.
"delighted Canadians for decades"
ReplyDeleteB*ullshit.
I remember being forced to read his writings in high school.
I thought it was crap then....and my opinion hasn't changed.
Now if only Neil Young would croak....
Never Cry Wolf; Revisionist History:
ReplyDeleteFarley studies wolves
Wolves eat mice
Farley begins eating mice
Wolf studies Farley
Wolf cocks head; recalibrates food chain
Wolf eats Farley
Generations of Canadian children are spared Farley's nonsense
I liked his early books such as Never Cry Wolf and the Dog Who Wouldn't Be, but his later works got more silly as the years progressed, and so did he. You lose an awful lot of credibility when you self - style yourself as The Council of Canadians. Assured in your own mind that you are the receptacle of wisdom when it comes to telling fellow citizens how to live their lives.
