The Canadian Landowner Alliance advocates for provincial legislation that recognizes property rights, and, that the Federal Government of Canada enshrines property rights in the Charter of Rights and freedoms.
You shouldn't be surprised to wake up with fleas. Or is it bees?
It seems the love affair between Ontario agriculture and the Wynne Liberals isn't as sweet as honey any more.
Jeepers! You'd almost think these guys were gonna take action or something like that. But we know better, and so does Witchibag. This is just a bit of pawing the ground over nothing at all. They're just following a well rehearsed script.
Indeed, Saul. both sides know how it works. A bit of huffin' and puffin' is okay, even expected. The bureaucrats will delay the legislation or otherwise ease the restrictions somewhat (predetermined buffer) and the roosters will crow and strut and pronounce a great victory. Meanwhile, behind closed doors, they're sucking and smooching Wynnibag's arse and rubber-stamping, without criticism, every rights-eroding piece of paper she passes to them
However....there won't be any disagreement, contrived or otherwise, from the OFA. Looks like their new man-at-the-helm was hand-picked by the greenies. https://blu177.mail.live.com/?tid=cmkiySR6B15BGPBwAhWtfbug2&fid=fltrash
"...He is a leading advocate for environmental farm stewardship in the areas of air, water, biodiversity and climate change...."
Thank goodness there are issues such as this to be researched, debated, pontificated, expanded, argued, settled, revived and conciliated. Lots of meetings and billable hours. Classic Shakespeare: Much Ado About Nothing
Everybody will kiss and make up when the Ontario Liberals stick us with a carbon tax....and the cash croppers will be bent over grabbing their ankles because they will get carbon credits from growing corn (or whatever?) to earn/or sell...until they find out the credits offered won't even cover the uptick in diesel prices due to the carbon tax to plant the damn corn. The local weekly paper came yesterday...in it was reporting of a meeting held by local hippies/socialists/ communists about declaring GMO free areas. Other highlights from the article include we should be testing for glyphosate in blood samples....and those growing non-GMO crops should get government assistance and organic farmers get subsidies. This crap only going to gain momentum. Get the government to hell out of my life and let us earn a living! Rant over.
We had a couple of dirty draft-dodger imports from BC moved in here back about 75 but they couldn't fit in and screwed off back to BC or the states. We have a few lefties mostly teachers who are on council and boards but they know their limits and wouldn't dare to bring up this s***.

ReplyDeleteOntario farmers press every self destruct button they can find. If there was a tsunami warning theyd head for the shore.
