The Canadian Landowner Alliance advocates for provincial legislation that recognizes property rights, and, that the Federal Government of Canada enshrines property rights in the Charter of Rights and freedoms.
Some fellows I know swear, that if you put your hands over your eyes whenever someone passes a newspaper article like that in front of you, it will all go away.
Just received a mailing from Agriculture Canada about a cash advance program that allows me to access up to 400,000$ from Canadian taxpayers, the first 100,000 interest free. I suppose that could be used in a pinch to make bank payments on overpriced land. One of the local stars of recent land acquisition is renting the land out this year rather than cropping it himself.....curious that. Eventually the price of farmland will have to be a reasonable multiple of what the land itself can produce not a speculative bet on its future value.

ReplyDeleteAs if land you cant build on is worth 15000 an acer
