Auditor General Bonnie Lysyk reports on the way the province hands out snow-clearing contracts to companies that nickel-and dime us on road safety.
Update: Reading the comments, I remembered this photo op from 11 Dec 2014 on Hwy 401 where it runs through the McRae farm. The snow plow driver put 'er in the median during the night. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, eh?
The only thing missing from the report is a beer fridge and a drunk to make it just as deadly as Walkerton was. But aren't we in Kathleen Wynne's "safe hands"? or does that not apply to our tires? If you have ever listened to the evening news report during the snowy/icy winter months, the major highway #401, that runs from Toronto to Montreal is a demolition derby with cars and tractor trailers in a tangled carnage. Is that not the Liberal way of providing such core services as snow removal? but to scalp that budget only to waste the savings on green energy and other assorted billion $$$ boondoggles,MILLIONS of people have been put at risk, plus the countless killed and injured by the half-arse attempt at snow/ice clearing...but will the media hold the Liberal's feet to the fire? don't hold your breath....
ReplyDeleteDamned solar panels - they just don't melt the snow and ice like they were supposed to. There's only one solution - put up more!
Deleteyes. our health system is going to shit and our roads are not maintaned and all our kids learn about in school is bugging but we got green energy
Delete"A picture is worth a thousand words" as the adage goes...and although I have no picture... (January 2014 on the #417 between Ottawa and Montreal) what could possibly happen when a loaded propane tanker with a set of trains heads off into the rhubarb followed right behind by a tanker loaded with jet fuel on the slippery/slush covered winter highways of Eastern Ontario? Ya think the BOOM might of rattled windows in Tarawna and got some attention?
ReplyDeleteThe liberals are nothing short of serial killers to let winter driving conditions deteriorate on major highways.
