WHAT DIFFERENCE, AT THIS POINT, DOES IT MAKE?

Is your farmland WET yet?
To be eligible for the program, farm properties must be located alongside a watercourse or have a stream, shoreline, wetland, pond or river on the property. Farm properties must be actively farmed (be able to provide a FBRN or equivalent) and have completed a third or fourth edition Environmental Farm Plan.

Have the hippies not looked out the window in the last few years?
An amazing amount of trees/old forest growth clear cut and miles and miles of pipe laid for drainage to grow C-O-R-N....the green holy grail of agriculture that they make ethanol from.

  2. We have the same thing out here called the Alberta Watershed Stewardship Grants. Any Rancher stupid enough to apply (and there are a few) can expect to have his property flagged as some kind of a conservation zone and diminished control of his lands down the road. But you just can't get through to some people.
