Does anyone know how to say "go **** yourself" anymore?
A student at McGill University in Montreal, Canada was forced to issue a formal apology for emailing a picture of President Obama kicking open a door–all because some students thought the image was somehow racist.
Indeed. Despite the vomit inducing "dislocated-my-shoulder-patting-myself-on-the-back" assertions that we're just so nice and polite, if there is indeed a behaviour that is close to a national characteristic, it is the instinctive tendency to immediately and completely comply to a demanded apology.
ReplyDeleteTrue true true. A lot of it is like a soap opera. As if an apology that is given as a result of a demand means anything. Like a bunch of silly little girls stamping their feet and pouting and blubbering I'm sorry.
DeleteThe first time I visited your site I just by chance clicked on the picture with the Profiles in Courage title that was rotating through topics at the top of your home page. It is what has brought me back here again and again. Now I really have to ask myself, like the girl who wrote that story, where are the men anymore?
ReplyDeleteI remember there was another story a month ago when students in Saskatchewan. were going to have a Hawaii party and some Indian complained it was disrespecting so they backed down and said sorry sorry. Not very brave at all.
