If we do it once to "bypass opponents"
"The Canadian government plans to start buying land in Detroit for the U.S. portion of a new bridge linking the nations...a move that bypasses opponents of the project and comes as the U.S. government hasn’t yet allocated money."
... I sure hope we haven't set a precedent!
All that’s left in the bureaucratic process is for the administration to decide whether the pipeline is in the U.S.’s “national interest.”
Now this would be the best tactic that cash-starved, ethically deficient, shameless US governments could ever use.

ReplyDeleteIf the Yanks sold the land to Canada, and then declared it 'Conservation Land' so that Canada couldn't use it for a bridge (or a pipeline), do ya think Harper might learn a lesson about property rights?
