STUFF THAT EVEN DEMOCRATS KNOW
Q: What's worse than a Lame Duck President?
A: A limp dick pretender.
The President has simply failed to respond to an outburst of violence around the world. It is an outburst that has not been seen since the 1970s. His only reaction is mere rhetoric, sometimes no rhetoric at all.

The animal activist group Mercy For Animals has been creating an uproar in the hog, turkey, veal and dairy industry in Canada, by infiltrating and filming on farms, and then given all the air time in the world on CTV's W5. In the U.S. the tables are starting to turn on the zealots.

ONTARIO: WHAT TO LOOK FORWARD TO
Possible Argentina debt default seen reducing corn output
Argentine farmers will likely sow less corn in the upcoming 2014-15 season if the government fails to stave off a new sovereign default in talks being held in New York this month, industry analysts said.
Meanwhile in Ontario...farmers have some debt issues too.
Well, at least farm income will stay strong...
And there's no risk of rising interest rates in Canada.
Funny thing about debt. You can't just wish it away, eh?

UH OH. HENRY'S INSULTED!
Ont. ag minister seeks ‘move away’ from wide neonic use
Grain Farmers of Ontario chairman Henry van Ankum said Monday the association is “extremely disappointed” to learn through the media — specifically, an article Sunday on the Globe and Mail’s website by reporter Eric Atkins — of incoming Agriculture Minister Jeff Leal’s plans, which may include a licensing system for future use of such products.
“The effort and leadership grain farmers have demonstrated on this issue has been second to none, and to have this discounted with such a rash move and announcement through media, is frankly insulting,”
Meanwhile, over at OFA headquarters...
We welcome the return of an integrated ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, led by Jeff Leal. Premier Wynne’s stint as Minister of Agriculture and Food helped boost the profile of the agri-food sector, and we’ll continue to push the potential with Minister Leal. We look forward to working closely with him to help champion our issues with other ministries, particularly Economic Development, Employment and Infrastructure.
FOOD PRODUCTION 101
Indonesia seeks ways to tame hunger for food imports
In addition to a lack of land and investment, water shortages, poor infrastructure and land rights issues are also blamed for limiting improvements in agriculture. To protect domestic farmers, the government also imposes limits on some imports and trading of food staples, which has been criticised by consumers and international trading partners.
"For Indonesia there definitely is a need to boost self-sufficiency. How you go about this, is open to question."
Ummm, give property rights and free markets a try. Elect a government that doesn't interfere, and your question will soon be answered.

What Alberta Finance Minister Horner said:

And what he forgot to mention
The annual (CTF) report shows Alberta spent $5 billion on capital projects, borrowing $3.8 billion, to bring the total capital debt, including debt incurred through private-public partnerships, to $8.7 billion.

The very fact that Uber is in the judgment of many consumers a better product is what provides the motive for destroying it. That is economic, intellectual, and moral perversion, but that is how politics operates. Its mandate is to stand between consumers and producers until it gets its cut...What is most perverse about this arrangement is that the firms in Category A are obliged to ask the parasites in Category B for permission to engage in commerce.
