The Canadian Landowner Alliance advocates for provincial legislation that recognizes property rights, and, that the Federal Government of Canada enshrines property rights in the Charter of Rights and freedoms.
Brave border agents seize teenagers' bagpipes.
Show me the guy who would do this, and I'll show you a wee man with no brains or balls. But, as Mark & Mark point out, there will be nary an official Conservative voice raised.
And there will be precious few in the public who will do or say anything meaningful either. Our legislatures are true reflections of the populations. If the public is too cowed/stupid/comfortable to demand change, it can expect more of the same.
I was going to ad "uncaring" to your little list but I guess stupid pretty well covers that. AS the article pointed out, a majority of people reflexively adopt the 'it doesn't affect me' position as justification for doing nothing about it. Sadly, I think they know better, but their cowardice and selfishness over-ride decency and concern for others. They just lie down in the weeds and hope the mortar shells keep hitting someone else.
The pipes, the pipes are calling. One more reason to be proud of my Scottish heritage - the bagpipes instill fear in the heart of tyrannical governments! Good to know American priorities are straight. Open up the US/Mexico border, ignore ISIS until the last possible moment, make excuses for Hamas, confiscate bagpipes from children. Combine all that with the hundred of Executive Orders Obama has signed and America is looking a lot like it did in 1776...except now its citizens are now too apathetic to do anything about it.
We are definitely getting what we deserve. I'm not so sure that hearing is the problem. It is more serious than that. Nobody thinks anymore, especially about the future. There is no real curiosity, no sense of wanting to discover something new. It is "me", "now" and on a platter please. I think all societies reach a point like this when rescue is simply impossible.
What is smaller than a little man or a little woman with a badge, a gun, and authority? Nothing. These agencies have become havens for sociopaths who need black and white text to point at to justify their endogenous prickery.

ReplyDeleteBecause what's the point ... no one can hear with ear buds and and iPhone. When they can hear, they aren't listening. We are getting what we deserve.
