The Canadian Landowner Alliance advocates for provincial legislation that recognizes property rights, and, that the Federal Government of Canada enshrines property rights in the Charter of Rights and freedoms.
"The 2014 budget does recognize that there are higher operating costs in Canada because of some import tariffs on food, less competition in the retail sector and the relatively small size of the Canadian versus American markets." So, what, you build more bureaucracy and implement more complicated regulation to "fix" the problems created by existing excessive bureaucracy and regulation? And for the last point, size doesn't matter. Freedom matters.
Jeepers, this is great news! This must mean that they're going to outlaw monopolies like Ontario's Beer and liquor stores, right? And they're going to get rid of market-screwing Crown Corp thugs like Hydro One and Farm Credit, right? And marketing boards that force Canadians to pay twice as much for milk and eggs, they'll be gone, right?
