The Canadian Landowner Alliance advocates for provincial legislation that recognizes property rights, and, that the Federal Government of Canada enshrines property rights in the Charter of Rights and freedoms.
Ha ha. Good one. But that is pretty well the way it works. You can ditch, dynamite, bulldoze, defoliate and otherwise destroy as long as it is done in the name of environmental consciousness.
Isn't it great watching the environmental groups getting whacked with their own stick, good and hard. Old growth forest made way for solar panels here in eastern Ontario and the land clearing for ethanol producing corn continues. Now the former champions of this policy are squealing for tree cutting bylaws, not the end of solar subsidies or the ethanol mandate. Typical.
Dear Saint David of Ceebeecee, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I f****d up, The courage to steadfastly refuse responsibility, And the wisdom of a flea.

ReplyDeleteYup. When we replaced traditional private property rights with statutory bureaucracy, we got corruption and stupidity on a grand scale.

ReplyDeleteThe entirely predictable progression of all things that are government and green:
ReplyDeleteIt starts with Silliness, carefully developed into Stupidity, culminating in Disaster.
A Greenie's prayer:
ReplyDeleteDear Saint David of Ceebeecee,
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I f****d up,
The courage to steadfastly refuse responsibility,
And the wisdom of a flea.
