From the story:
"Reynolds has heard a number of possible reasons from the institute why the turbine isn't performing as well as expected, including poor placement, cold weather, and less wind."
From the comments:
"For wind turbines to be effective you need to build more than a few......maybe like 100 turbines.....that would work."
HA HA HA HA HA. Wheeeeze. OK, stop. You're making me cry and I think I might pee my pants!
Saw a beauty on the Canadian Wind Energy Assocation's site before Christmas:
ReplyDeleteDid you know that wind turbines have a generating capacity 98 percent of the time.
Can you think of a more useless, meaningless, statement.
"For wind turbines to be effective you need to build more than a few......maybe like 100 turbines.....that would work."
ReplyDeleteI think if you wanted them to be REALLY effective, you would have them powering giant fans, that would blow on them and turn their blades 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
And even though the depressingly stupid economics of wind turbines support all the points made by old Adam Smith, don't let that stop you from trying to take on Newton.
If you really want to laugh, go to the Canadian Wind Energy Association http://www.canwea.ca/index_e.php and read the 'Did you know' crap.
ReplyDeleteIt's like they're writing bedtime stories for kids.
